Weekend Plan: Active and Fit

Today’s generation calls for a more compact, time-constraint lifestyle. In this age, everyone is always in a hurry to do so many things in such a short span of time. Working while travelling, meeting while having lunch, or reading the newspaper while having breakfast are some of the normal things happening to those who like multitasking.

Good thing modern amenities allows accomplishing two or more tasks at the same time. It is indeed beneficial to have everything instant as more things can be done at the same time. However, not all things can be easily acquired through instant gratification. There are some instances that you need to set aside a specific time in order to get the desired results.

One of the things that people nowadays always forget is how to keep themselves healthy through physical activity or sports. For some, it takes too much time to commit themselves in going to gyms or simply working out when there are other priorities such as work.

A reason why Samujana has planned out its wellness program to accommodate those who want to keep active and fit while travelling or taking a holiday break (as there should be no pause when it comes to good health).

PERSONAL TRAINING

For an even tailored fit regime for the guests, personal training is available upon request. A typical session would usually involve medium to high intensity metabolic circuit training using different equipment, free weights, and machineries. Under the guidance of the trainer, timed exercises will be done such as full body movements, metabolic circuits, high intensity intervals, and functional training.

Combining all of these with the expertise of the trainer, the target results is to improve the conditioning and shape of the body, as well as the strengthen the body and increase maximum calorie burn.

CROSS-FIT

The core of Cross-fit is high intensity functional movements done in a timed manner.  The workout itself has evolved into a training philosophy that coaches and helps guests improve their overall physical well-being and cardiovascular fitness.

During the session, an expert will be guiding all guests, newbie or experienced to ensure safety while working out. It also is interesting to know that guests will be provided with different exercises or workouts each training session. It is also good to note that Cross-fit has a unique approach: guests are welcomed in an encouraging manner.

BOOT CAMP

A boot camp is a workout that is modelled after military recruit training camps and has been around for many years now. Once guests decide to take up boot camp, a series of exercises – combination of running, calisthenics, aerobics, and other basic routines such as push ups – are designed to give a comprehensive workout.

TABATA

A workout developed specifically for Olympic speed skaters is now available at Samujana. Tabata is developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata and was used for Olympic training during the 1990s. It is one of the most well-known forms of high intensity interval training or HIIT. Similar to Cross-fit, this involves high-intensity workouts; the difference lies in the interval. Consisting of 4 to 8 rounds of ultra-high-intensity exercises, it follows a 20-seconds-on and 10-seconds-off interval.  Sounds simple? For Tabata, exerting thrice all the effort you can is a must. This way, aerobic and anaerobic results can be seen.

For each workout, Samujana assures that the guest’s capacity and ideal goal will be taken into consideration in order to maximise the activity into one healthy and productive weekend.
